2023-2024 President’s Service Award
The Junior League of Greensboro is honored to award Ashley Ricks the 2023-2024 President’s Service Award. During the 2023-2024 JLG year, Ashley Ricks served as the Chair of the Community Housing Solutions committee. In this role, she coordinated and worked with Junior League volunteers to perform necessary home repairs for qualifying families in Guilford County in partnership with Community Housing Solutions. Due to her important work with this non-profit organization over the years, she now sits on their Board of Directors.
“A true leader and teacher, [Ricks] has patiently given not only of herself this year and in years past as a member but has also taught and brought along many other members enabling them to help so many in our community in need. She is so deserving of this honor. Throughout the years I have known her, I have seen her demonstrate true commitment and dedication to helping those who need extra support.”
— Nicole Scallon, 2024-2025 JLG President
“She is a tremendous leader, teacher, and person! She recruits hardworking volunteer teams from the JLG each year to help homeowners in need. Her leadership goes far beyond getting the volunteers to the job site. She often goes out to preview the builds and completes a little work ahead of time to make the build day go as smoothly as possible. She comes to volunteer prepared to lead, teach, and love on the homeowner. At the last build of the 23-24 League year, she taught [Junior League of Greensboro members] Susanne, Nicole, and Danielle how to run the chop saw. Her patience and instruction empowered these women with new skills that they all used to help build a new deck for a member of our community in need.”
