Since 1928, the Junior League of Greensboro (JLG) has dedicated volunteers and resources to issues facing our community. The JLG strives to create meaningful and lasting impact in the community through its membership and its efforts with community partners. Every two years, the League identifies organizations to directly partner with by providing time, talents, and funds. Below, learn more about JLG’s Community Partners for the 2026-2027 League year/
PDY&F Community Garden
$11,000 + Volunteers
The Junior League of Greensboro is proud to partner with Positive Direction for Youth & Families, Inc. to support families and strengthen our community. Together, we work to address food insecurity and empower youth through hands-on service, education, and access to critical resources. Volunteers will build and maintain pollinator gardens to ensure that bees and other pollinators have diverse nectar throughout the year.
A Simple Gesture
$8,000 + Volunteers
The Junior League of Greensboro will work in partnership with A Simple Gesture to combat hunger and support our Greensboro neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers will assist with expanding the Green Bag program, collecting Green Bags, and delivering food donations to food pantry partners. A Simple Gesture’s main goal is to provide a regular supply of food to ensure no child or family is hungry.
Family Room of the Triad
$10,000 + Volunteers
The Junior League of Greensboro will partner with The Family Room Triad to support families in need through their Emergency Family Room Pantry. Together, we will help provide essential items and resources to foster and vulnerable families, ensuring they have access to critical supplies during times of transition and need.
Kids In The Kitchen
$1,500 + Volunteers
Kids in the Kitchen, a Junior League initiative launched in 2006, promotes child health by teaching kids and families about healthy eating through hands-on activities, food tastings, and interactive lessons. In 2026, Kids in the Kitchen will partner with Greensboro EATS to help empower children and families to make nutritious budget-friendly recipes.

Hands on Help

Hands-On Help program connects volunteers with local nonprofits to provide meaningful, hands-on service and immediate community impact. Volunteers support local nonprofits by lending their time and energy where it’s needed most, creating an immediate and tangible impact.
